Over the last 2 weeks, Canterbury volunteers have been preparing an area for wildflowers at Kingsmead Field.

Last week we mowed and raked, then on Tuesday we were joined by volunteers from McCarthy Stone, who helped to remove the turf. Lots of hard work all round, and a big thank you to @mccarthystone for lending their staff for the day. The area will be sown with wildflower seed by the Friends of Kingsmead Field. So, although bare for the moment, it should be full of colour and buzzing with insects next summer.
