The word of the day yesterday as we completed our survey of the items we removed on a river clean in Ashford.

Yesterday alone we removed 40 vapes from around 300m of river!

And we are not alone in seeing an increase in the number of vapes and other e-cigarettes we are removing from in or around rivers- Our Finest Dour are removing high numbers too- 65 in their latest clean!

Vapes are a triple threat to our environment- plastic waste (packaging), electric waste (battery) and hazardous waste (nicotine salts).

However, some locations are recycling vapes! We are looking into those in the Stour Catchment which take vapes for recycling- if you know any please comment below!
