New river meander Victoria Park
A new meander in Victoria Park.
Not a walk through the park but a new bend in the river has been created where once it was straight . The design to create the meander includes a narrow channel for when the water levels are low, and staged sections, or berms, to allow water to extend out when water levels increase or get high.
All of this will improve the dynamic flow of water through this section and be better for both the aquatic wildlife and the extended riparian habitat area now on the river’s edge.
