Increasing the Great Crested Newts populations..

A Good Newt News day at the Office!
Out of 89 ponds that the KSCP created and restored for Great Crested Newts, this year 43% were populated by GCN!
This is a fantastic result from a technique called Environmental DNA testing, a non-invasive and accurate method of recording GCN presence in ponds.
The project has been ongoing for 5 years, and what a difference has been made!
If you have land in Kent which is currently unsuitable for GCN breeding, but would like to create or restore a pond on site with a 100% funded scheme, get in touch with the Partnership to see if we can work in your area.
